Egg Substitutes: How to Bake with an Egg Allergy

Are you ready to bake egg-free?

Chances are, if you are allergic to eggs you would do anything for a nice hot cookie or brownie.  But how do you bake without eggs?  Try some of these egg substitutes.

  • 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 T water, 1 T vinegar
  • 1 tsp. yeast in 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 T. water, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 1/2 T oil
  • 2 T. water and 1 pack of gelatin
  • Potato starch found in health food stores
  • 1 T. fruit, pureed

Do you want your baking goods crisp?  Add a teaspoon of arrowroot powder to your recipe.
