If you have seasonal or environmental allergies, chances are there are times you would do anything to have a clear nose or eyes that don’t itch. Some people suffer from allergies throughout the entire year, while others experience symptoms seasonally, depending on the pollen type outside.
But what causes allergies? It’s actually a bit of a battle being fought inside your body. When you inhale or are exposed to an allergen, your body sees it as the enemy and produces histamines and other chemicals to attack it. This process causes you to experience allergy symptoms.
Symptoms of an allergy vary greatly between individuals. For instance, one person may experience immediate sneezing while another will develop eczema days after exposure.
Some of the common symptoms of an allergy include:
* Allergic shiners, or dark circles under the eyes
* Asthma
* Coughing
* Dizziness
* Ears feel itchy on the inside
* Eczema
* Fatigue
* Feeling “out of it”
* Hives
* Itchy or watery eyes
* Itchy skin
* Lightheadedness
* Nasal congestion
* Runny nose
* Sneezing
* Wheezing
